DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Police Annual Remembrance Day
  Service will take place at 12.30 for 1pm on Sunday\, 12 November 2017\, a
 t the Lanarkshire Constabulary War Memorial\, next to the Sheriff Court Ho
 use\, 4 Beckford Street\, Hamilton ML3 0BT.\n\nTea &amp\; coffee\, courtes
 y of the Sheriff Clerk's Office\, will be provided from 12.30 pm in Court 
 8\, situated behind the Memorial\, (public Access to Court 8 is signposted
  next to the memorial off Beckford Street). Ample parking is available on 
 Beckford Street and in the Main Carpark just past the Court Buildings.\n\n
 The Service is a very poignant and fitting tribute to those fallen Police 
 Officers and those people in your own thoughts who gave their lives in con
 flict. It lasts approximately one hour and is outdoors (weather permitting
 )\, so please dress appropriately for the weather conditions.\n\n\nPlease

 n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Service is very well presided over by
  Mr. Ian Forsyth\, President of the Glasgow and the West of Scotland Branc
 h of the Royal British Legion (Legion Scotland) and will be facilitated by
  the Reverend Neil Galbraith\, the Church of Scotland's Chaplain to Police
  Scotland. Pipe Major David Stark will play the bagpipes. Member Bill May 
 will be the standard bearer for the Royal Corps of Signals Standard. RPOAS
  Committee Member Bill Dempster will have the honour of being standard bea
 rer for the Lanarkshire Police Constabulary Colours and our Branch Preside
 nt Ellen Callan will have the honour of laying the RPOAS wreath. Wreaths w
 ill also be laid by Mr. Louis Munn\, Deputy Lord-Lieutenant\, Lanarkshire\
 ; Chief Superintendent Roddie Irvine\, Lanarkshire Divisional Commander\, 
 or his representative\; a representative of the Sheriff Principle\; Mrs Ma
 ureen McLean\, the Sheriff Clerk and John Rodgers (Retired Det Insp) on be
 half of the Court staff. The Salvation Army and other representatives will
  also be present. Police Scotland will kindly provide an Order of Service.
 \n\nWear your Poppy with pride\, please come along and pay your respects i
 f you are able. There are usually around 50-60 in attendance.\n\nFor those
  who have not attended before\, the monument is in the shape of a Celtic C
 ross and stands about 12 feet high\, made from granite\, hewn from a quarr
 y in Creetown\, Kirkcudbright\, Dumfries and Galloway.\n\nThe memorial bea
 rs the inscription 'Lanarkshire Constabulary the Great War 1914-1918 in Me
 mory of Fallen Comrades' and the names of the 24 brave Police Constables w
 ho tragically lost their lives in World War 1. The opposite side bears the
  inscription '1939-1945 In Memory of Fallen Comrades' and the names of a f
 urther 10 valiant Police Officers who sadly fell during World War II.\n\nT
